What is Marvel Femslash Exchange
Marvel Femslash Fanworks Exchange is a multiformat exchange open to Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Comics (excludes standalone properties like Star Wars), and Marvel Netlfix TV-verse, X-Men Movieverse, Crossover Fandom, and Rule 63 fandoms. You can request and offer fanfic, art, podfic, and fanvids.

Rules

• You must give a gift that includes at least one of the recipients' requested fandoms and relationships (not necessarily the one you matched on), in at least one of the medium(s) the recipient has requested, and which does not involve any of the Do Not Wants (DNWs) in the recipient's sign up.
• The gift must be: a fic of at least 500 words long; a podfic of a fic of at least a 500 words in length; a piece of art not on lined paper that has clean linework; or a video of at least 1:00 in length. Participants will receive the same in return.
• All gifts must adhere to the recipients’ DNWs. If a DNW is included, the creator of that gift will be banned from future participation.
• If you are requesting podfic, you must link 2 fics in the Optional Details box for your requested pairing that are 500 words or greater, and those authors have transformative works permissions for podfic that is easily confirmable (ao3 profile or dreamwidth).
• All nominated ships must be femslash, even if you are nominating threesomes or moresomes. No gen fic.
• Rule 63 nominations will be allowed and Rule 63 relationships will be nominated as their own fandom.
• Crossover Fandom is for crossovers between subfandoms, e.g. Maria Hill (MCU)/Natasha Romanov (Comics) not for characters outside of Marvel.
• Please do not reveal yourself as a work creator until the anonymous period has ended.
• Recipients need to comment on all of their gifts by September 3, 2019 in order to be eligible to participate in future Marvel Femslash events and exchanges. If your gift is in violation of a DNW, please contact the mod. If you have another life circumstance that prevents you from commenting, please contact the mod.

It is, as the name suggests, a multiple medium exchange for Marvel Femslash fanworks!

What do you mean by Marvel? What ships/characters qualify?
All Marvel characters appearing in either Marvel Superhero(ine) Comics (including X-Men), Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Netflix TV shows, X-Men Movieverse, and other X-Men properties are welcome.

Is this only for / relationships or are & relationships also allowed?
It's only for / relationships, sorry.


I want to request/offer podfic, how does that work?
Requests: If you are requesting podfic, you must make sure the pairing you are requesting has at least 5 fics on ao3 that are 500 words or greater, and at least two of those authors has transformative works permissions for podfic that is easily findable (ao3 profile, dreamwidth,etc.). Please link these fics in the Optional Details box. If you are writing a letter, and you have authors you love that have transformative works policies, please include them in your letter. You can request podfics of your own work, but at least one of the available fics has to be written by someone other than you.
Offers: You can podfic one of the linked fics, or a different fic as long as it is 500 words or more and you have obtained permission from the author. You can also write a 500+ word fic and podfic your own work.
*Note: Please do not offer podfic if you have never made a podfic before. Podfic can take a considerable amount of time to edit and produce.

How many fandoms and relationships can I nominate?
You can nominate up to 10 fandoms (including Crossover Fandom & Rule 63), with 20 relationships allowed per fandom.

Are original female characters allowed?
Yes. If you want to nominate your favorite Marvel character shipped with an original female character please have at it. Check the nominations post for more details on formatting your noms (tl,dr please list OFC first in the ship).

Are crossover relationships allowed?
Crossovers between Marvel subfandoms are allowed. Please nominate in the format Character One (Fandom One)/Character Two (Fandom Two) etc. If you would like to do a crossover with a Rule 63 character, please nominate them under Rule 63 Fandom.

This is a femslash exchange, why are you allowing Rule 63?
Based on this meta post on Rule 63 by intransitive, which I found convincing, I decided wanted to include genderswaped characters e.g. Thor is and has always identified as a woman. *Note: sexswaps where a male character wakes up with female genitalia but is still male identifying are not allowed. Rule 63 will be its own fandom so if you want to participate you should be able to easily find things in that fandom tagset, and if you don’t, you can avoid it.

How many fandoms and relationships can I request?
You can request between 1 and 10 fandoms, and between 3 and 50 relationships from the tagset. If you only want to request 1 fandom, you can repeat that fandom in all 10 slots and request up to 50 relationships, or any combination thereof. Note: if you request 10 fandoms, you can only request 5 relationships per fandom. You can also request 'Any Relationship' if you like. Please note that this means any relationship in the tagset, not any relationship ever. Please be very sure you are willing to receive fanworks works for every relationship in the tagset for that fandom.

How many fandoms and relationships can I offer?
You can offer between 1 and 10 fandoms, and between 4 and 50 relationships from the tagset. If you only want to offer 1 fandom, you can repeat that fandom in all 10 slots and offer up to 50 relationships, or any combination thereof. Note: if you offer 10 fandoms, you can only offer 5 relationships per fandom. You can also offer 'Any Relationship' if you like. Please note that this means any relationship in the tagset, not any relationship ever. Please be very sure you are willing to create works for every relationship in the tagset for that fandom.

How will assignments be matched?
Thanks in large part to ao3’s exchange algorithm, you will be matched on a minimum of one fandom and one relationship and one medium within that request. Please don't discuss your assignment in public before reveals.

Should I fill in the 'Optional Details' section of my signup?
You must include your Do Not Wants (DNWs) in the optional details section. If you write a letter, please include them there as well. Only DNWs listed in the optional details section are enforceable by the mod. If you are requesting podfic, you must link at least 2 fics that are over 500+ words and the authors of those works must have transformative works policies that include allowing podfic. The rest of the optional details (likes/prompts/Etc.) are optional and will help guide your creator but they are not required to follow them.

What are Do Not Wants?
Do Not Wants or DNWs, are things the recipient absolutely does not want to receive in their gift (something that would ruin the gift for you). DNWs stated in the optional details area of the signup must be respected.

Should I write a letter?
Writing a letter is totally optional (you can use Dreamwidth, a tumblr post, an open access google doc, etc). Providing general likes and prompts gives your creator a better idea of what you want (though they aren't obligated to follow those prompts) and increases the chances of receiving treats. If you write a letter, please add a link to your letter both in the section reserved for that in the signup and to the letters post (forthcoming after signups open).

Are treats allowed?
Yes! Allowed and encouraged. Check out the Treat Tracker Spreadsheet (forthcoming).

What are treats?
Treats are extra gifts you can give people in addition to your main assignments.

Do you need to be signed up to treat someone?
No, you can treat with abandon, as long as you follow DNWs.

What are the minimum requirements for treats?
There is no minimum word count or art guidelines for treats, but treats should still be for requested relationships/medium(s)/fandoms and DNWs honored.

Is there a separate collection for treats?
No, treats can be added to the main collection until creators are revealed Friday, June 14th at 6pm PST.

If you think you might need an extension, please contact the mod as soon as you can. All extension requests must be made 12 hours before the deadline.

I can't finish my assignment.
Please default on ao3 as soon as possible if this is the case. There are no penalties for defaulting this round.

Where will pinch hits be posted?
Pinch hits will be posted to the dreamwidth community and requests will be accepted on a first in time basis through screened comments.
